Community Over Competition

Community Over Competition

August 11, 2019

I love the creative indie biz community and there's nothing like a bit of community over competition!

I have been lucky enough to work with some fantastic small businesses over the last year as well as provide badges for various support services - something that makes me very happy indeed.

I have listed below (in alphabetical order) a selection of some of the wonderful ladies that have featured my work in their subscription boxes, workshops and also those I have collaborated with on a specific product. Yay!

Please check them out!

Bookfulness is a family-run business based in Wales. They believe that every person deserves some me time; some time to relax both mind and body.  Great subscription service for any bookworms and a company that believes that there is no better way to relax than with a great book and some goodies to boot!

I featured in their Halloween 2018 edition subscription box as pictured - seriously how cool is this box of goodies! So if you love reading and some chill out time check them out!

Cheer Up Treats

Victoria is the lovely lady behind Cheer Up Treats and she does exactly what she has set out to - cheer people up! Mental health inspired and spreading positivity is what I love about these gift boxes. Victoria has featured some of my products a few times now and is a champion supporter of other fellow biz owners - all goodies are handmade by members of the indie biz community! Awesome!

From mystery boxes to themed boxes you can snap up a gift for yourself or someone who you think needs a treat.

Indie Roller - (Make it Happen Group)

This is the place to be for any fellow indie business owners who want to soar to the next level! The group is brought to you via biz legend Leona Thrift-ola. I've been struggling to find the words that do this amazing group justice. Indie Roller and the Make It Happen group not only gave me confidence and knowledge but it also gave me a dream team of fellow creative cheerleaders. The passion and support in this group from Leona and other like minded biz owners is invaluable and priceless. You will grow, challenge yourself, the boundaries that you once set yourself will move forward and all this will happen whilst you get spurred on by your new 'office' pals. I can't recommended it enough!

Creating an exclusive version of my Yes, I Can badge for the initial membership group welcome pack was an absolute honour!

Little Bit Different

I love a good ol' scented candle, so when the idea came about to join forces with pal and local biz owner Vicky from Little Bit Different you can imagine my excitement! Vicky makes wonderful hand poured candles using eco soy wax (a must for me) in her studio in South Wales and wanted to do a new range that was, well, a Little Bit Different!

I love having the opportunity to work with fellow small business owners and this was a collab dream! We wanted to create a range that was fun, colourful, uplifting with plenty of positive vibes and yummy zingy scents. We absolutely love how our collaboration worked out and I am so proud of these candles. They smell awesome and do what they say on the tin! Hah.

The wonderful Abbie from RedRags - a biz that offers handmade cloth sanitary and breast pads - featured me in her monthly flow box a couple of times last year and I just love her work! Abbie creates everything you need to make the swap - cloth pads, wetbags and also custom pads in various fabrics for you to ensure you have the correct size etc. Amazing!

There are beautiful fabric designs, cool accessories along with plenty of information to make the change over on her website with lots more goodies coming soon.

The Smile Parcel

I have featured in a few Smile Parcels now and I absolutely love what Karen has created! The Smile Parcel is a monthly surprise care package with a big, but simple mission to share a smile, a little inspiration, and hopefully boost mental health along the way too. Well you can't get better than a mission like that right!? Like Karen says it's a treat for anyone and everyone!

You can grab a one off parcel or a subscription of 3 or 6 months. Boxes will include, items for your home, decorations and inspirational gifts, along with a few fun things, and maybe even something to eat! Bonus!

Wonderful Me Workshops - Teacup Doodles

Toria from Teacup Doodles runs the fun, creative Wonderful Me workshops for children and adults promoting self-love and positivity. Through these amazing workshops Toria helps boost well-being and promote positive mental health using art to bring people together.

I adore everything about Wonderful Me and the ethos behind it and I have been honoured to make some badges that Toria has given out at some of her workshops. Using creativity in such a positive way is such a great idea and one that I wholeheartedly support. Please check out the links below for more information.

The Whimsical Kitchen

I have featured in The Whimsical Subscription box a few times now and I absolutely love being able to have that opportunity! Jackie really does create the rainbow food of dreams. From marshmallows to cookie dough to the most mouthwatering fudge all with superb flavours and scrummy designs!

As well as colourful edible goodies (how cool is her Rainbow marshmallow!) that you can purchase on the site, Jackie also runs a monthly subscription service so you can treat yo'self on a recurring basis! Win win!
